About Me

I'm a 53 year old writer and artist, living on the Mid North Coast of NSW Australia.
I write women's fiction with attitude and I also dabble in collage poetry. I am an emerging artist, still exploring mediums and deciding on my favourite. I have been taking online art courses such as Ever After, Lifebook and Moonshine. I have a Cafepress shop called Chickollage which specialises in fun collage poetry designs and writers’ motivational products, along with a shop at Zazzle.
With seven complete manuscripts in various stages of development (or decay), I’m serious about developing my writing career. I am a member of Romance Writers Australia and spent several years in various roles including email list moderator, blogmistress, committee member and Member Secretary. I have been a member of Nambucca Valley Writers Group since 2000. responsible for both their blog and their website.
My current writing mantra is ‘ReWrite Edit Submit’.
My short story Beyond Happily Ever After was published in the September 08 issue of Wet Ink magazine, Issue 12 which is available for purchase on the Wet Ink site. The story was written for the MId North Coast Writers Association short story competition and won 2nd prize. I had so much fun with the characters, I wanted to know what happened next. Beyond Happily Ever After is now a novel-sized manuscript After Ever After, seeking a home.

Meet my biggest critic

This was Dorkus. My 16 year old Australian Mist cat, who loved to sit on my manuscript, supervise my writing (and my cooking). If he threw up on the manuscript, then I know it needed more work!
Dorkus was the sporadic author of Diary of a Mad Cat, though most of the time he prefered to sleep than blog.
Sadly, Dorkus passed away on 13 September 2010, after a very happy 16 years together.

Now I have a new critic - Qwerty

Qwerty adopted me in January 2012. He loves the laptop, hence his name. But he is curious about everything and supervises washing up, cooking, laundry, showering. He has been known to add a word or two to a manuscript, make video calls to my friends, and find functions on my laptop that I didn't know existed. Occasionally he blogs, when his personal assistant has the time to take the dictation. He is working on a photo book called 'Qwerty's Guide to Living with Humans'.
